I currently serveas an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the Ohio State University. Prior to joining OSU, I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Johns Hopkins University, working with William B. Kouwenhoven Prof. Jerry Prince. I received my Ph.D. in Information Sciences and Technology at the Pennsylvania State University, University Park, under the guidance of Prof. Sharon Xiaolei Huang. I hold an M.S. in Computer Science from Lehigh University in 2018 and obtained a B.E. in Electronic and Information Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China in 2015.
HIRING!!: Multiple Ph.D. positions and one Postdoc with full financial support are available in my lab. I also welcome Research Assistants and interns, offering financial support to exceptional candidates. Details can be found here.
My research primarily focuses on computer vision and deep learning, particularly in biomedical image analysis using generative models and data‑efficient learning. My recent interests are are evolving towards foundation models and multi-modal learning. I’m driven by a passion to leverage deep learning for groundbreaking developments in diverse fields via interdisciplinary research. In the field of digital health and medical image computing, I see AI as a transformative force, capable of redefining clinical and scientific medicine. My future goal is to pioneer AI research in clinical medicine, exploring new frontiers in diagnosis and prognosis with methods previously unexplored.
I’m always open to discussing research and potential collaborations, so please don’t hesitate to drop me an email if you are interested.
